Arena of Valor Class Guides: Know Your Role

While I have been (and still am) creating hero-specific guides for mobile MOBA Arena of Valor for ZAM’s new AoVStats website, I’ve now begun creating class guides.

These guides will tackle general strategies for the various roles that each hero is categorized as, such as Tank, Support, and Mage, as well as explaining how various hybrid classes work.

Sadly Arena of Valor is still not available in the US (I’m using a special Euro code to get in and play), and its US release has been delayed into 2018. But if you enjoy MOBAs and fancy playing one on your phone or tablet, it’s a good one, and I’ve enjoyed writing guides for it.

The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 7 “Time for After” Recap

Remember when I recapped the Savior-focused episode earlier this season and mentioned it was fine, provided they kept those to a minimum? Well you done screwed up, The Walking Dead. Just two weeks later we get yet another extended peek into the crisis at Sanctuary, this time centering on Eugene, which makes it an even worse episode.

Based on our last look at the Saviors, I was lead to believe that the show would follow the comic route with Eugene escaping with the Saviors’ doctor (whom was taken from the Hilltop) to deliver him to pregnant Maggie (at the behest of Father Gabriel). Instead the actions laid out in this week’s episode pushed Eugene even further into the arms of Negan and the saviors, though with some notable alcoholism side effects. A Hat in Time Review [Pixelkin]

While I lack much of the fond nostalgia for the 3D platforming genre, I was completely enthralled by A Hat in Time. Its bright, cheery art and music, witty dialogue, and grandiose level designs instantly catapulted Hat Kid among the upper echelon of the late 90s Golden Age classics.

Simply put: A Hat in Time is the most fun I’ve had with a 3D platformer since Psychonauts.

The massive frost giant emerged from behind the hill. Even for a frost giant he was battle-worn and grizzled, proudly wearing the skull of a dragon upon his head, and wielding a greataxe with glowing runes.

“Halfred,” his deep voice boomed, “is that you?”

I looked at Halfred, whose face broke out into a wide grin. He practically waved back. 

Harshnag mentioned the name of Halfred’s friend and mentor, which lit up the halfling’s face even more. Harshnag had been put on the same path as us, hunting the Ostorian relics. He also knew why that was important, but before he could explain, his eyes turned sharp and he gripped his axe, motioning behind us.

We turned and saw a small army of rock-like creatures approaching our direction.  “I don’t know much of these creatures,” Harshnag said, “but they’ve been watching the mound, stock-still. Seems they were waiting for you.”

The creatures resembled walking boulders with arms. They approached slowly, and I could see each hefting a large warhmmer. My heart sank as I saw their leader. He looked exactly like T.I.M., but adorned in blood red robes.

They stopped suddenly, as if each acted in accordance to the leader’s will. The leader turned to us and spoke in a frighteningly monotone voice, “You are neither we seek. Where are the one like me and the traitor?”
