From guest GM Chris comes our playthrough of the Alien RPG adventure, “Destroyer of Worlds.”

Starring:
Captain Silva
Private Dante
Sergeant Mason
Officer Chaplain

Death Counter: 0

After the terrifying events at the hospital and the police station, the marines regroup, confront Miss Wilson, and decide on their next course of action.

Two of the four AWOL marines, Carvahlo and Reese, are dead. A nasty alien parasite seemingly destroyed them from the inside, then tried to take out Charlie team. Thankfully the marines survived, but they’re on edge, and not happy about this new development.

Miss Wilson isn’t forthcoming with any details, though she admits the obvious: their biohazardous bodies are the “knowledge” they carry that must be contained.

We have only one lead. Right before he died, Carvahlo mentioned needing to get to the refinery to get off-world.

Miss Wilson leaves and the marines file back into the APC for some quick stress-reducing R&R, even as a chilly blizzard descends upon Ariacus.

On route, Captain Silva receives new orders from higher up, Colonel Myers. Myers reveals that the other two AWOL marines are an extreme danger (no shit!) and must be destroyed. Silva isn’t happy, but understands the severity of the situation.

The old refinery is abandoned, but not entirely vacant. The marines can spot a fiery glow emanating through the cracked walls. They file out of the APC, and Chaplain activates his motion tracker, finding five human bodies huddled in the middle.

Silva decides to go in hard, though without guns literally a-blazing.

The surprise breach and show of force works well, though when Mason reveals U.P.P. army uniforms from two of them, Sliva is forced to calm them down and convince them not to draw their weapons. They agree, and reply to an incoming message about their pickup targets acting weird and causing delays.

The marines learn that the U.P.P. was handling extraction of the AWOL marines, and this was merely a meetup point.

Silva suggests waiting here and ambushing them, but upon radioing in, Major Hatfield orders the marines to raid the insurgents’ compound, killing everyone inside.

It’s a heavy order, but we’re at war. On the plus side, Hatfield sends the dropship to give us a powerful edge.

After securing the prisoners, Silva and the team debate on how to approach the compound.

Ultimately, they decide to split the team between the APC and the dropship. Dante, Hammer, and Zmijewski will approach in the dropship and repel down, while Silva, Mason, Chaplain, and Iona will ram the gates with a full frontal assault.

The APC hits first, crashing through the front gate as armed guards open fire. Chaplain jumps on the gatling gun turret, while Silva and Mason fire grenades.

The dropship arrives from above in all its terrible glory. Hammer gleefully mows down guards with the gun, while Dante and the missile launcher is love at first blast. She craters the entire roof, creating an easy entry point to the second floor.

The insurgents’ guns do nothing against the heavy armor of either vehicle, but some are armed with RPGs. Things get a bit hairy when they connect with the dropship, causing it to spiral. Thankfully the three marines make it out before it’s forced into an emergency landing.

While the APC crew cleans up the outside resistance and breaks into the locked door, the dropship crew drops inside, expecting more heavy resistance.

They’re half right. Instead they find bodies viciously torn apart. One of the AWOL marines, Wright, is handcuffed, pleading for them to give her a weapon. The fourth, Wojcik, arises from the pile of bodies, black veins running through her body.

Ruh-roh!

The monstrous marine rushes at Dante, grabbing her head and nearly twisting it off with superhuman strength. Hammer blasts her with his smart gun, sending her reeling backward, exploding parts of her body.

But that only reveals the monster inside.

As the rest of the marines rush upstairs to the sounds of screams and bodily carnage, the alien creature rips off its last vestiges of humanity, revealing a terrifying alien-human hybrid beneath, with a skull-like face and spinal tail.

Needless to say, it’s pretty stressful!

Outside the entire outpost lights up with an explosion, and Hatfield screams over the radio.

The U.P.P. invasion force has arrived.
