From guest GM Chris comes our playthrough of the Alien RPG adventure, “Destroyer of Worlds.”

The reactor kicks back on, restarting the power throughout the fortress. Unfortunately, the noise and lights immediately draws the attention of a hoard of aliens crawling around the ceiling.

Silva and Zmijewski waste no time in hauling ass out of there. They head toward the nearest escape — a small access tunnel to the east. Just as they arrive, an alien drops down and rips its own body apart, spraying deadly acid all over them. 

Thankfully they avoid the brunt of the damage, make it inside, and slam the cover shut.

Meanwhile Iona is still trying to hang on to Fei2. The android freely admits she is no longer in control of her motor functions. Sensing that she’s not an immediate danger, and that she’s stronger and faster, Iona actually leaps onto her back as she swiftly power walks out of the facility.

It turns out to be a solid plan, as the android also shuts the now operational doors behind her. Things get a little scary as she re-enters the chestburster-filled maintenance pits, but they keep a steady pace and leave the aliens behind.

Several floors up, on level 2, Wright, Hammer, and Wilson have arrived at the primary control room. A mysterious female android has awoken and grabbed Wright’s gun. The marine struggles but she pushes her and Hammer against the wall, and punches her in the throat.

Wright shrugs off the machine-powered punch, and yells to Wilson to do something.

Wilson calmly tells Jaell to execute its functions. Damn!

Wright has one risky trick up her sleeve. 

With her free hand she pulls out an electroshock grenade and drops it on the floor.

The risk pays off, as the grenade stuns Jaell and Wilson. Wright panics a bit, freezing in place, but Hammer is free, and Wright yells at him to kill Wilson.

Hammer is the exact person for the job, and the trigger-happy marine guns her down, ripping her in half. 

Damn!

She survived all of Chariot of the Gods to end her tenure here. On the other hand, it’s very satisfying that she was executed by her own player character! 

Hammer also freezes after the panicked shot, but both marines are able to grapple the stunned android, pinning her to the ground.

Once again Wright has as surprising plan, and simply talks to her. She learns that Jaell’s goal is to extradite her “father,” Col Meyers, who’s currently in stasis here at the fort. She can tell that the marines are infected, and are a danger.

Wright convinces her that they’re not showing symptoms yet (which is true), and that they’ll help save Meyers if Jaell helps them.

The android agrees!

While Silva and Zmijewski scurry in the vents, Iona and Fei2 arrive at the control room, where it’s revealed that Jaell had been controlling Fei2. Jaell relinquishes control, and the group rests up a bit before heading east to pick up Col. Meyers.

Back in the vents on Sublevel 2, Zmijewski and Silva also rest up, then head east. They communicate with the others about reaching the space elevator, and Jaell mentions that the only access is on sublevel 3 — which she has not unlocked.

Before they head over there, Zmijewski insists on checking out the nearby nuclear storage. He believes he can set off a timed explosion and destroy the entire facility, erasing these creatures from existence (after the marines have left, hopefully).

They reach the large blast doors, and Jaell remotely opens them. That sends alarms blaring throughout the facility, and they hear the sound of alien screams.

Zmijewski ducks inside, seeing hundreds of crates, including one broken nuke leaking radiation. He gets to work on the nearest one, though it takes him a hot second to work the controls.

Silva yells to hurry up as an enormous, 10-ft tall monstrosity lumbers toward them. The Captain doesn’t hesitate. She fires her grenade launcher in the middle of another stack of crates holding munitions, weapons, and grenades, exploding the area in a cacophony of fireworks and blasts.

The damage only scratches the beast, but it does distract it, giving her and Zmijewski enough time to run like hell and duck back into the vents, closing the door as it slams into it.

They swiftly run north along the tunnels, reaching an elevator.

The other team has also reached an elevator, having acquired the Colonel (and wheeling his stasis pod on a dolly). Both squads head down to Sublevel 3, where this whole mess began.

The area is coated in black resin. Wright steers them clear of the cold storage area, making a beeline toward the space elevator, and finally meet up with Silva and Zmijewski.

The reunited marines are down one Wilson, plus one Jaell, and Iona isn’t looking so hot, experiencing serious symptoms of the infection.

But the team presses on, entering the cargo bay of the crawler that takes them to freedom.

They enter a nightmare.

An enormous alien queen deposits eggs while sickly creatures tend to her needs, and smear more of the black resin around the room. Several drones move about the room, keeping watch.

The marines will have to overcome one last challenge to earn their freedom.
