Time-travel often makes for fun, if confusing stories. I don’t see them too often in tabletop RPGs as they could require a lot of linear storytelling.

The Sunken Village of Little Corth” is a level 2 adventure that sends the PCs back in time to thwart a time-traveling necromancer and fulfill a prophecy that they’re already a part of. The adventure includes lots of fun little ideas that tie the past and present together, but it’s a densely packed read and requires the PCs to work in perfect sequence with the DM.

Xanather’s Guide to Everything is an all-encompassing supplement and compendium for both players and DMs, though geared much more towards players. Its biggest feature are new subclasses for every single class, opening a lot more variety and player builds, while also including firm rules on frequent rules questions and options, such as downtime, magic item distribution, and detailed usage for tool proficiencies.

The Roll20 bundle includes everything in the book, as well as an adaptation of an Adventurer’s League module, “Underworld Speculation,” which features the titular beholder in a really fun, unique way. Xanather’s makes for a great addition for any serious Roll20 adventuring group, though its complete lack of monster sheets, tokens, art, and maps also make it the least important.

MAJOR SPOILERS – DM’s only!

Nothing like ending one session by stabbing an old lady, and beginning the next one by rolling initiative. The party quickly figure out that Nanny Pu’pu isn’t exactly a sweet old gal, attacking the disguised Green Hag and her problematic ‘child.’ The real challenge, however, is how to get her bag of loot from the well, where something black and squishy resides.

Faeries, the fey, sidhe, whatever you call them, are an integral part of our shared human culture. The fey are a part of Dungeons & Dragons as well, though we lack an officially published Fifth Edition adventure or guidebook.

Myrddin’s Guide to Faerie” hopes to fill that vacuum with an all-encompassing supplement for both DMs and players, featuring over 40 pages of faerie lore, as well as four new player races, 14 new (or modified) subclasses, over a dozen magic items, and several legendary NPC statblocks.

Ravenloft provides the perfect D&D setting for Gothic and eldritch horror, and Curse of Strahd is (correctly) considered one of the best published Fifth Edition adventures to date. Any DMs Guild adventure that artfully blends classic horror tropes with intriguing storytelling in a Ravenloft setting quickly gets my attention. But I was unprepared for the sheer breadth of content and attention to detail with “The City of Eyes.”

“The City of Eyes” is a 15th level (!) adventure that takes place entirely within a dark dimensional noir city, under constant rain fall and stalked by terrors of the night. The adventure plays out like a tense, cooperative Arkham Horror-style board game as players work to unravel the mystery and escape from the mystical city before they’re driven mad, or worse.
