Stayzie Diamondz, level 4 orc Champion FighterElowen Fernwhisper, level 4 wood elf Circle of the Moon Druid
Chéri Powder, level 4 human Illusionist WizardTaveen, level 4 aasimar Warrior of Mercy Monk
With Taveen distracting the magically charmed Quentin, Chéri decides it’s time to make it to the backrooms and back up Varrow. He casts Disguise Self again, transforming himself into Quentin, and uses his pass card to open the door into the southern hallway, with a confused Stayzie in tow.
As they walk down the hallway, Stayzie asks where “Quentin’s” dog is, and Chéri realizes his disguise isn’t complete without it. He whips up an illusory dog with Silent Image, which Stayzie tries desperately to pet.
Notably, his concentration on the real Quentin is forcibly dropped!

Varrow tells Elowen to wait in the office as he exits into the hallway, finding an employee break room (A13). He ties the door shut as Chéri-Quentin approach with Stayzie.
The three briefly discuss a plan, but their noise brings the attention of one of the guards in the security room (A16). Acting swiftly, Chéri-Quentin plays out his role perfectly. He pretends to be showing Stayzie, the new hire, all the backrooms with all the dismissive pompousness of the eccentric gnome.
Varrow uses his small stature and dexterity to, er, hide within the illusion of Quentin’s large black dog.
Chéri-Quentin continues to act the part (with Stayzie’s convincing help), and eventually dismisses both security staff, leaving them alone in the room with all the magical mirrors that overlook the casino.
A room to the south opens into several small holding cells, while a door to the west warns of the vault beyond, with no entry permitted.

Varrow ducks into the cell block, finding two occupants (A17). One is a drunk, but the other is Wumpus, one of the tournament players, and the halfling who was caught cheating.
Varrow enlists Wumpus as part of the crew, telling him they’re robbing the place, and that he can be the lookout, using the mirrors. The rogue promises to pay the man thousands of gold as part of his cut, which causes Chéri to balk.
But Wumpus agrees, and Varrow lets him out.
The three party members walk through the long hallway toward the vault door, where a large demon mouth greets them. Still disguised as Quentin (and having to clamber on his knees as a result), Chéri waves his pass card, and the door opens.
Inside is the large vault room, with several treasure chests and wardrobes lining the walls. In the middle is an ominous bone pile (A19).
Stayzie impatiently shoves everyone in the room, and the bones animate into a large snakelike creature with glowing red eyes (a bone naga)!
Stayzie charges into it and smashes it with a critical hit from her greatsword, crunching several large chunks of bone.
The undead creature responds by firing a magical lighting bolt into all three of them! Despite the low damage (19) it’s over half the health of the rogue and wizard.
Varrow does his thing ducking around the corner and throwing daggers, while Chéri blasts it with burning hands, only slightly singing it.
Stayzie continues to chop away, but the creature locks eyes and sways, charming her, then turns and chomps down viciously on Chéri, downing the wizard.
A final dagger throw from Varrow explodes the monster, and the two rush over to revive Chéri, then take in their spoils.
