Elowen catches up to the party, seeing a full on gang-fight outside Weirdbottle Concoctions, and several dead or unconscious thugs.
She fires off a moonbeam spell, narrowly missing Chéri, who has cleverly emerged from his own stinking cloud with disguise self, appearing as one of the gangsters!
Taveen deflects a crossbow bolt and sends it right back, while Stayzie takes out the last guarding criminal at the store entrance.
But around the back of the store, Varrow has his hands full dealing with their boss, Rufus, a large burly bugbear (tough boss) who smashes into him with his warhammer, prompting the nimble rogue to fall back, and telling Skeemo to get the hell out of here.

Stayzie hears the shouts and uses her orcish adrenaline rush to catch up to Skeemo as he runs. The shady gnome explains how Varrow saved him and is now in a pickle, and Stayzie calls out to Rufus.
Blood has been spilled, and Rufus is pissed, especially after Varrow just literally stabbed him in the back.
But he’s also a professional, and he was here to get the money that Skeemo owed him.
Stayzie quickly realizes this, and immediately offers to pay him a hefty sum: 1,200gp!

Rufus accepts the offer, though some of the other party weren’t quite ready to stop fighting (especially Varrow, who has a rivalry toward the Xanathar’s Thieves Guild).
Skeemo needs money too, and Stayzie offers him 200gp, which he reluctantly takes. As recompense, he offers the party some potions from his grab bag of random useful potions (a d10 table), which the party eagerly rolls on.
He also offers that they pay him 50gp per additional random potion pulls, up to four per day. The party becomes flush with potions, including several Greater Healing potions (which were supposed to be the rare drop, those lucky bastards)!
With the gang retreating and Skeemo appeased, he whips up the antidote for Taveen and Chéri, curing them of the poison. Skeemo is keen to keep doing business with them, claiming that he has a lot of problems, and most of those problems have fists!
The party returns to Trollskull Manor, where they get several days of downtime. Bastion time! Each of them gets to utilize the Special Facility they selected for the Bastion, from Herb Garden to Smithy, crafting new gear and supplies. In Taveen’s case, he sells the expensive statuette from the casino at a 10% upcharge, nice.
After some days off in Waterdeep, their next client arrives: a gnome wearing a hooded cloak. The party is surprised when the woman pulls back her hood, revealing dark gray skin and a bald head — a deep gnome from the Underdark!
She pulls out a golden key and says in broken Common, “Little Lockford. Danger. You help.”
