From guest GM Chris comes our playthrough of the Alien RPG adventure, “Chariot of the Gods!”

Note: Due to (HIGHLY ANNOYING technical difficulties, this session was split into three videos)

Starring:
Vanessa Miller, Officer
Leah Davis, Pilot
Jennifer Wilson, Company Agent

Miller, Davis, and Rye approach the busted airlock door. Rye uses a cutting torch to force the door open. It works, but time spent in space suits means dwindling air supply.

Inside the Kronus the ship is completely dark — but not dead. It appears to be in standby mode, as if waiting.

The trio carefully make their to the main deck towards the bridge. Half the bridge has been scorched, as if by a fiery explosion, and a fire axe is dramatically imbedded into the central console.

Miller removes the axe, and the ship suddenly whirs to life, lights and monitors flipping on, prompting nervous jokes about the axe’s power.

The team get to work pouring over databases and entries, noting that over half the listed crew appear to be deceased or missing. Five are supposedly still in cryo, and a synthetic named Ava deactivated herself after malfunctioning.

Atmosphere is returning to the ship, but there’s a problem. CO2 is not being properly filtered, and the ship reads that the filters are damaged and need to be replaced. No kidding — the ship has been resting in standby mode for decades!

Wilson radios in and says they’re coming over. Miller tells Cham to bring some filters to repair the filtration. If they can’t get the air quality up, nothing else really matters.

On their way over, however, Cham swears he hears voices, people arguing. The reunited crew of the Montero grow concerned, and Wilson suggests they head toward the cryo chambers.

On their way out of the junction, they see a grisly body, a woman in a space suit with her body contorted and head blown off, a shotgun in her hands. Wilson claims the gun.

At the end of the hallway they open a door and find another group of five staring back at them, one of them with a shotgun leveled at Miller. The group is wearing little more than robes and appear disoriented, clearly the effects of long-term cryo sleep.

Miller talks the other woman down, introducing herself, her crew, and their response to the distress signal. The other woman slightly relaxes. Her name is Valerie Reid, and she’s a security officer, a marine, on this vessel.

She says they need medical attention. One of them is clutching his head in pain. They suggest heading to the medlab, but Wilson has a medical bag with her. Miller suggests they head back to the bridge.

At the bridge the group prepares to get some answers. Miller takes the medical bag and approaches the muttering man, but suddenly he screams, his jaw distends, and a clawed arm thrusts out!

The man’s head explodes as a gray creature claws its way out, bits of gore hanging off its alien body.

Miller freaks out and drops the bag, while the dead man’s crew begin backing away and yelling, “kill it!”

Thankfully she still has the fire axe, but in her panic she misses, and the creature claws at her, digging into her leg.

Davis tries to attack it with the cutting torch but misses. Reid aims the shotgun but doesn’t have a clear shot.

Wilson is more reckless, but thankfully highly skilled, as she levels the shotgun and blasts the creature, followed by a gunshot from Reid.

The beast screeches and panic levels rise, but then it squeezes into an air duct and disappears.

Confused terror runs through the Montero group as Reid explains: they were collecting alien artifacts on a planet, but they contained some sort of spore. The spores could infect people through the air, with the end result gestating a monstrous creature inside the host body, until it violently clawed its way out.

They had apparently created an antidote, which the cryo crew took, but for some reason the doctor never took his. Why?

The heavily injured Miller is ready to take these survivors and get off this ship.

But then a message blares over the radio — self destruct sequence has initiated, and it’s coming from the Montero!
