In a special shortened Thursday session we finished up the fight at the Wreck of the Star Goddess. The party climbed to the top of the skyship wreckage only to face down a trio of Girallon Zombies.

With the ghouls below defeated, our heroes made their way up to the wreckage of the skyship Star Goddess, which had been broken up into three massive chunks suspended in the tree tops.

If there’s one thing this party is good at, it’s climbing. Between Therin’s wildshapes, George’s Gloves of Climbing, and Gillian’s Ring of Jumping, they are quite good at getting to hard to reach places. A well placed grappling hook helped bring Khaless and Mannix up there.

The wreckage still contained several survivors, including the Captain, though all were heavily exhausted and near death. They first had to contend with the lumbering undead beasts heading their way. The party had faced the four-armed Girallons before, and the undead version wasn’t much different, including grabbing some of the redshirt survivors and hurling them into the air to let gravity do the work for them.

Early on George received this same treatment, though Vorn was able to help break his fall and minimize the damage. He’d climb back up as Khaless blinded another, causing it to fall down on its own, where the many NPCs could deal with it on the ground.

D&D

The bestial zombies were tough but the party stood their ground. Only one remained but the middle wreckage was collapsing. The last undead beast fell, with George on its back!

Again he fell to the ground, narrowly avoiding falling unconscious (literally dropped to 1 hp!). The others quickly secured ropes around themselves and the surviving crew, and carefully descended to the ground.

Oloma was overjoyed to see some of her crew mates had survived, and the party shared some of their rations. Captain Bravewing gave them some interesting reconnaissance based on their flight path. They had seen some mysterious ship activity in Jahaka Bay, as well as an intriguing temple that looked like it was built right out of a shipwreck.

The half-dozen survivors couldn’t stay with the party; they needed to get back to civilization and heal as soon as possible. Inete offered to help take them back, explaining she’s far more cut out for this work rather than adventuring. Khaless also offered the tabaxi to help guide them, and they readily agreed.

Just like that the huge party has dwindled down to just the PCs, plus Azaka and Vorn. After a Long Rest in the rear section of the skyship, still safely secured in the trees, they decided to travel northwest to the ancient Yuan-ti temple of Orolunga.
